Get $5,000 for your undergraduate studies in real estate, hospitality, or shared services — apply by August 1, November 1, or February 1.
You can receive a one (1) scholarship of $5,000. This is a scholarship, not a loan, so you do not have to pay it back. This is for you if you are an Indigenous student pursuing an undergraduate degree in the real estate sector, the attractions and hospitality sector, or the shared services sector, which includes human resources (HR), legal, communications, marketing, or information technology (IT). You have three deadlines to choose from: August 1, November 1, and February 1. When you apply, ask Indspire (the organization managing the funding) how and when you will hear back—whether by email, phone, or through their portal. Selection criteria aren't published — ask Canada Lands Company how winners are chosen and roughly how many applicants they typically receive so you can judge your odds. Ask Canada Lands Company during your application how the money will reach you — some awards pay students directly, others apply funds to tuition. Confirm this so you can plan your cash flow. Renewal conditions aren't listed — if you're counting on this for multiple years, confirm with Canada Lands Company whether it's one-time or renewable and what you need to maintain.
Read the official award page end-to-end. Confirm you meet every requirement before you start.
Double-check every field, save a copy, and submit at least 24 hours early.
The biggest mistake is writing a generic essay about your grades.
Winners instead explain exactly why they chose a career in real estate, hospitality, or shared services and how this specific field connects to their community goals.
The biggest mistake is providing a generic character reference.
Winners instead secure letters from mentors or professors who can speak to their specific aptitude for the sectors listed in the eligibility rules.
The biggest mistake is waiting until the final deadline.
Since there are three separate deadlines (August 1, November 1, and February 1), you should aim for the earliest one to get your application in front of the committee first.
