About this award

Get between $500 and $2,500 for your tuition if you are a woman from rural Manitoba entering your second year of post-secondary or a graduate program — apply by June 15, 2026.

You can receive one or more bursaries ranging from $500 to $2,500 in value. As a bursary, this money is yours to keep and does not have to be paid back. This is for you if you identify as a woman from a rural background who is determined to finish your education and enter a specific professional career. You must apply by June 15, 2026. When you apply, ask how and when you'll hear back — whether it is by email, a portal, or phone. Selection criteria aren't published — ask Calgary Foundation how winners are chosen and roughly how many applicants they typically receive so you can judge your odds. The money is applied directly to your tuition. Confirm with Calgary Foundation during your application if there are any other specific steps to ensure the funds reach your school account. Renewal conditions aren't listed — if you're counting on this for multiple years, confirm with Calgary Foundation whether it's one-time or renewable and what you need to maintain.

Can you get it?

  • To qualify, you must identify as a woman and have resided in rural Manitoba, specifically outside of Winnipeg and Brandon. You must be attending a Canadian post-secondary institution in the upcoming Fall. You need to be entering your second year of study or beyond in an undergraduate program, or you must be studying at the graduate level. This includes professional degree programs that lead to entry-to-practice professions, such as Juris Doctor (law) or Doctor of Medicine (medical school) programs. You must be pursuing a certificate, diploma, degree, or journeyperson certification that will lead to direct employment in your specific field of study after you graduate (for example, a clear career path into physiotherapy, environmental sciences, trades, nursing, or education). You also need to demonstrate financial need and community involvement. Note that preference is given to you if you remain in or plan to return to Manitoba to pursue your career.
