About this award

The President's Scholars of Excellence Program (PSEP) gives a $15,000 entrance scholarship in your first year. It is non-renewable, so you receive it once. The admitting division may add further features; check your letter of offer for details. You do not apply separately. When you are admitted to direct-entry undergraduate studies, the university automatically considers you based on your average at the time of admission. Approximately 150 of the most highly qualified students applying to their first year of direct-entry, undergraduate studies will be distinguished. Payment is conditional. You must register full-time in September at the specific division or faculty that made the offer, and stay full-time for both the fall and winter sessions. The $15,000 is credited to your fees account after registration; any balance left after outstanding fees are deducted is sent by direct deposit.

Who qualifies

You qualify if you are a domestic or international secondary school student applying to your first year of direct-entry undergraduate studies at the University of Toronto. You must not have previously attended any post-secondary institution. Selection is based on your average at the time of admission. You are considered automatically once admitted, so there is no separate application to submit.
