What you will need

• ✓ Apply for admission to an Acadia undergraduate program and provide all required admission documentation.
• ✓ Complete and submit the scholarship forms in your portal by March 1.
• ✓ Complete the scholarship application online through the Status Portal.
• ✓ Complete the scholar-bursary application form in the Status Portal by March 1.
• ✓ If you apply for a Local and Specialized Scholarship, complete the separate application form for that award.
• ✓ For the Raymond E. Ivany Merit Award, send a written essay of maximum 500 words to financial.aid@acadiau.ca.

About this award

When you apply to an Acadia undergraduate program as a Canadian or international student, you are automatically considered for an entrance scholarship. Initial entrance scholarship offers can range from $500 to $2,500. Other scholarships and scholar-bursaries can range in value up to $80,000 over 4 years. Scholar-bursaries are based on academic standing and demonstrated unmet financial need. Local and Specialized Scholarships require separate application forms. Some awards are one-time, some are renewable, and some include tuition, a residence room, or mentorship. You complete the scholarship forms online through the Status Portal, and some listed awards have their own deadlines or email submissions.

Who qualifies

You must be a high school, secondary level student, or a transfer student applying to an Acadia undergraduate program. You need an average of at least 80% in the courses required for admission; if you are transferring, you need a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50 or 80%. You must be in your first undergraduate degree program and have completed no more than 2 years or 60 credit-hours, and you must be within 5 years of graduating high school. International curriculum grades are scaled to Canadian standards. For scholar-bursaries, you must be able to demonstrate unmet financial need. Separate awards add their own conditions, such as Nova Scotia birth or residence, Black Nova Scotian status, Annapolis Valley Regional School Board graduation, residence in Port Williams for at least five years, a specific business program, or extra-curricular activity.
