About this award

You can receive one of up to three awards valued at $8,500 for diploma programs or $10,000 for degree programs. This is a scholarship, not a loan, so you do not have to pay it back. This is for you if you are a youth leader who has dedicated your time to helping others through a Rogers Birdies for Kids presented by AltaLink participating charity. Applications closed on June 30, 2026. This award is given annually, so ask Calgary Foundation when the next window opens. When you apply, ask Calgary Foundation how and when you will hear back — whether it is through email, a portal, or a phone call. Selection criteria aren't published — ask Calgary Foundation how winners are chosen and roughly how many applicants they typically receive so you can judge your odds. Who qualifies

To qualify, you must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident who is graduating Grade 12 this year. You must be entering the first year of a full-time diploma or degree program at a Canadian post-secondary institution within one year of receiving the scholarship. You need to show community involvement through a 2026 Rogers Birdies for Kids presented by AltaLink participating charity and demonstrate leadership, integrity, and generosity. Finally, you must be in good academic standing with a cumulative GPA (Grade Point Average — the average of all your final grades) greater than or equal to 2.7 or 70%.
