$2,500 minimum for incoming first-year undergraduate students from Calgary public or separate schools — apply by May 30, 2026.
You can receive one award valued at $2,500 minimum. This is a scholarship, not a loan, so you do not have to pay it back. This is for you if you are a community-minded student from Calgary with ties to the Filipino community. Apply by May 30, 2026. No notification timeline is posted publicly — when you apply, ask how and when you will hear back via email, portal, or phone. Selection criteria aren't published — ask Calgary Foundation how winners are chosen and roughly how many applicants they typically receive so you can judge your odds. The money is applied directly to your tuition. Confirm with Calgary Foundation if there are any other payment steps you need to take. You can keep this award for three consecutive years of study. To do this, you must maintain enrollment in a full-time course load as defined by your institution.
Read the official award page end-to-end. Confirm you meet every requirement before you start.
Give your referees at least two weeks' notice and share your résumé.
Double-check every field, save a copy, and submit at least 24 hours early.
The biggest mistake is listing a few random events.
Winners instead tell stories about their long-term impact through church or cultural groups.
List specific roles you held and the hours you dedicated to each activity.
The biggest mistake is providing a generic teacher who barely knows you.
Winners instead choose a mentor from their volunteer work who can prove their community dedication.
Give your referee a copy of your application so they can match their letter to your claims.
